Annette is a warm, nurturing, and engaging support professional who brings a wealth of life experience and genuine care to her work with children and families. She is a proud mum of two adult children and a loving Nanna to three gorgeous grandchildren who she absolutely adores. Experience with Children's Issues

Annette has over 10 years of experience working in special education and disability support, supporting children with a wide range of additional needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Dyslexia, Anxiety, and learning delays. She has a strong understanding of how children learn differently and the importance of adapting support to suit each individual child.

More recently, Annette completed her postgraduate studies specialising in English as a Second Language (ESL), and has spent the past 7 years working as an English teacher with TAFE Qld. Through this role, she has developed a strong skillset in literacy development, language acquisition, and breaking down learning into achievable, meaningful steps; skills she is passionate about bringing into her work with younger children.

What Approach Does Annette Take?

Annette takes a calm, patient, and highly supportive approach, creating a safe and encouraging environment where children feel comfortable to try, make mistakes, and build confidence at their own pace. She understands that every child learns differently, and takes the time to get to know each child’s strengths, interests, and learning style so she can tailor her support in a way that feels achievable and enjoyable.

Annette is passionate about making learning feel positive, successful, and most importantly, FUN! She focuses on building strong foundational skills in literacy and learning through structured, practical activities, while keeping sessions engaging and interactive. Her goal is to help children not only improve their skills, but also develop confidence in themselves and their abilities, setting them up for success both in and out of the classroom.

How Does Annette Work Within the Therapy Team?

Annette works as an Allied Health Assistant under the delegation, direction, and supervision of your child’s Occupational Therapist, in line with NDIS guidelines and best practice standards.

Her role is to support the implementation of therapy programs targeting your child’s individual goals in areas such as literacy, learning, and functional skill development. All intervention is planned, reviewed, and monitored by the Occupational Therapist, ensuring it remains evidence-based, goal-directed, and aligned with your child’s NDIS plan.

School Readiness & Literacy Intensive Programs
Our holiday programs are not typical group activities — they are structured, therapist-designed intervention programs targeting foundational literacy and learning skills for children who require additional support.

Each program is carefully developed by the Occupational Therapist, with clear therapeutic goals, session structure, and evidence-based strategies embedded throughout. Annette delivers these sessions in a small-group format, allowing children to receive individualised support while also benefiting from peer interaction and shared learning experiences.

These programs focus on building core skills, confidence, and engagement with learning in a positive and supportive environment, while maintaining clinical oversight and direction from the Occupational Therapist at all times.

Ongoing Therapy Support
For children accessing ongoing therapy, Annette may also deliver targeted intervention sessions delegated by the Occupational Therapist. These sessions are designed to increase therapy intensity, provide additional opportunities for practise, and support the generalisation of skills across environments.

As an Allied Health Assistant, Annette does not independently assess, diagnose, or develop therapy plans. Clinical responsibility remains with the Occupational Therapist at all times.

This model of service delivery supports increased therapy intensity and a cost-effective use of NDIS funding, while ensuring all supports remain consistent, accountable, and clinically guided.
